Battle Log of Operation 513 at Sunnybank on Wednesday May 27th 2026 from 1030-1130

Today, teamed up with Edwin to do street outreach in Sunnybank. Edwin exceptionally had a long chat with a seekers from China who has been affiliating with a Catholic priest. So Edwin spent a long time to brief him the salvation by faith doctrine against the old tradition of Catholic biased teaching.

As for me, had a couple of good and long chat with a Taiwanese student who was approached by our team before. I did a thorough follow up recap which proved to be very useful for that guy to understand it is a common need of each and very one of this fallen human races. That Jesus is the only one to make us perfect again meaning our record of sins has been set to zero the moment we accepted Him as our Savior. Then I had another long chat with a Chinese face Filipino of Catholic background. He also failed the assurance of salvation test but was glad to have it clarified giving me a thumb up for my explanation. There were many more shorter or scattered chats but still serving God's purpose for that particular persons.

Operation 513 Battle Log for Toowong on Tuesday May 26th from 1030 - 1200

The weather was still unstable, but as usual God stop the rain with a wet ground but Sunshine when I got to Toowong. Today was special for a couple of people from UK that I could conveniently associate with by my extensive UK experience including frequent business trip, family visit to my Sister at Oxford at that time , and finally my one odd year full time study of Master if Information System at UMIST Manchester. Actually I was led to Christ in Manchester in 1990. So, chatting with people from UK helped me build quick rapport with them.

First was an UQ student from Essex county, he is a non-believer yet he believes in God, but falling short ti comprehend the concept of triune god. He actually has extensive study of Bible, my chat with him apart from sharing first the gospel that all human needs Jesus at long as we admit we are not perfect. He is a genuine seekers having a list of question from hus bible reading. I thanks God to help him clarified many biblical questions. He from all angle would soon be ready to accept Jesus as his savor.

The other guy was in total opposite, a guy from Wales but of African background, who grew up i na background of abuse and chaos. He deems all religious are humanly founded full of corruption as such he bluntly reject to ket me share gospel with him. I anyway still was moved to connect as a equal human being counter part to exchange life experiences. God is good and he is always in control.

 Battle Log of Operation 513 at Sunnybank on Wednesday May 20th 2026 from 1030-1130

The weather turned sunny finally. It was an amazing outreach. For the first time ,God moved a Chinese Girl to approach me while I had just started sharing with another Vietnamese girl sitting next to her. They do not know each other. But the Chinese girl was so eager to listen on while I share the gospel with the Vietnamese girl. It was a pity she had to leave first. As for the Vietnamese girl, she said she is now studying the Bible by her self, a sincere seekers. I shared 90 % just falling short of the final wrap up when her bus arrived. She genuinely wish to meet me next week and let pray for this to happen.

OI also approached a couples others who wer all open and receptive. Praise be to the Lord

Operation 513 Battle Log for Toowong on Tuesday May 19 from 1030 - 1200

It was an overcast day with intermittent scattered rain. Yet as usual, I was well protected under God's promise to be with me whenever I set oof to serve him as such, God closed the window of the sky withholding rain throughout the whole time I was serving on the street and even covering my lap swimming afterwards.

Two chats stood out. It were with an Australian born Indonesian cross breed and with a Thailand student with Indian blood. Both are non-Christians possibly muslim and Buddhist respectively, but both were open and receptive to the gospel especially the way i approach the issue of the gospel that as long as we all admit no one including ourselves are perfect, then by definition, we all have been disqualified to regain the citizenship of the heavenly kingdom. Only way is to rely on a perfect person which can only be Jesus to take our place to received the eternal death punishment. The moment we accepted Jesus as Savior, our sins are pardoned and set to zero making us a perfect and new creation to be qualified immediately to be reaccepted into His Kingdom.

God is good and is gracious to elect non-believers of other religions to be attracted to Jesus.

The message of one of the LCD screen "Own the Unknown" also resonate with God's way to move those non-believers to "own the unknown."

Battle Log of Operation 513 at Sunnybank on Wednesday May 13th 2026 from 1030-1130

Hurrah, we had got the biggest team since pandemic at Sunnybank with 4 people from Joce Meyer Minisatry team and from SM Kairos team with Edwin and me. Ann may have come but the rain might have prevented her to cross over the pedestrian bridge to come to our side. Also the Great Commision Church folk originally planned to come but did not turn up. No matter what 6 or 7 serving as one body in Christ is something we can celebrate and praise with thanks giving.

Errol is the first timer to Sunnybank, or even for street outreach. We prayed and encouraged him to take the first step of faith to make an approach to anyone around. He actually had a very good start, making good connection and having some chat. I was moved to back him up to do follow up chat with some he approached. His first timer status to share gopel to stranger boldly really impressed some of the gospel targets. So, it is the life witnessing power apart from proclaming by words.

It was yet again a team effort of street outreach full of grace and power bestowed on each and every one of us who did His work.

Operation 513 Battle Log for Toowong on Tuesday May 12 from 1030 - 1200

After two weeks of rest because of other important commitment, I resume the normal weekly outreach ministry at Toowong. Hope John will rejoin me soon after he has just finished his cross oceans cruise ship tours.

I have got three full chat divine appointments with young non-believer man from USA, than a local Aussie Christian and an Australian born India of different attitude and response. The one from USA, might have been affected by the general leftist mindset that have seriously poisoned the younger generation of USA, appear indifference to the gospel though still with politeness to let me finish the entire sharing. Then the local Aussie Christian, a very warm welcoming character to have interactive chat with me, was found not having 100% assurance of salvation but was clarified with appreciation. Last but not the least. The ABI though claimed to be of Hinduism family heritage, appear most open and receptive to the gospel and affirm that every one including himself need Jesus. Earthly region is just a sort fo cultural expression to divine creator being and all he needs to do is to accept Jesus as his personal savior. God will guide his way to live a born again Christian life with many Indian Christian Church around.

Battle Log of Operation 513 at Sunnybank on Wednesday May 6th 2026 from 1030-1130

I skipped Toowong Outreach for 2 consecutive Tuesday due to Ad hoc priority business. I anyway resumed my regular street outreach today but alone, Edwin was not available and Ann turned up but did not come over to join me on the northbound side of the public bus stop. I had chances to chat with ABC of Taiwan origin, another Mainlander student with Christian affiliation, a Poland born local Australian young man of no faith, a homeless people and finally an Afghanistan young Muslin but was open enough to hear the gospel knowing Jessus is not just a prophet but the only Savior of the world.

So basically, it was a day of gospel proclamation to the non-believers with mixed but positive result

Battle Log of Operation 513 at Sunnybank on Wednesday April 29th 2026 from 1030-1130

After a fully loaded yesterday conducting the funeral and burial service for brother Ivano with the prominent presence of God opening way for us to have good weather throughout till even we finish the picnic for kins after the burial at Redcliffe. I woke up with slight headache perhaps because of the generally high tension mood yesterday, but felt all good for my regular street outreach at Sunnybank. Ann joined me later so, I was all alone initially. God made divine appointment for me to meet a young guy from Uzbekistan who is of Muslim background. Perhaps he was taught to challenge the Christian doctrine of salvation by grace thru faith that they deems it a cheap way to get save by simply accepting Jesus, so they thought it only means you have got an immunity to death as such you can feel free to sin. I simply pointed out to him, if you keep sinningi intentionally after your are saved, it shows that you have never had a repentant heart to really trust Jesus for your salvation reflected by your lack of a graceful heart to stop sinning intentionally but submit to the Holy Spirit to let your life be transformed back to perfection. I still pray for this first time Uzbekistan person.

Another high light was the catching up with Richard an Indian Christian born from a Christian family with legacy retracing back to Thomas the disciple of Jesus. He rarely shows full correct understanding of salvation. I took the chance to ask about his church which to my delight is an indigenous Indian Orthodox church that I can introduce it to Sam the Baptist Missionary in Brisbane. God is good finally helping me to locate such orthodox Indian Christian community here in Brisbane.

Battle Log of Operation 513 at Sunnybank on Wednesday April 22nd 2026 from 1030-1130

Today Edwin teamed up with me and Ann also joined us later. As usual Edwin quickly sweep through the bus stop making quick approach to every one for either long or short chat. I have several useful chat with people from India, Iraq, Vietnam, and China etc. It was a very fruitful day of outreach.

I decided to start taking notes after I have interesting chats with strangers on the streets.  That way I’ll be able to remember to write about them in this monthly report.

 

Because of that, I now have four interesting stories to encourage you with.

 

I’m trialing a new schedule, and so this month Roger and I tried switching our Tuesday Riccarton outreach to Thursday.  The first time we tried this (April 23rd) I had a wonderful time of ministry.  Three of the stories will be from that outreach.  The last story will be from the Friday (24th) outreach in the city.

 

Often when I start a street outreach, I’m already feeling quite tired from earlier work online.  I always start in prayer, but, if I’m tired like this, I often don’t feel up to hunting for a conversation (walk up).  To get myself rolling, I pick a spot and just start handing out tracts to those that pass by.  Before I know it, I’m in a chat, and then, suddenly, I’ve had multiple chats and 2 hours have flown by!  So, can I encourage you, if street outreach seems too daunting to you, try doing what I do - lower the bar so it’s not so daunting, and before you know it, God has used you in ways you didn’t imagine possible.  God delights to show his strength through our weakness - we just have to be willing to take the first step, no matter what that step is (e.g., taking an opportunity to swing an every day conversation to deeper things).  If we practice, over time we will grow, and what was once daunting won’t be.  Jesus is worthy, so be encouraged!

 

So, it was like this on that Thursday.  I started by handing out tracts, to get myself going.  Next thing, I’m having a great chat with 3 teens who had been handed Gideon Bibles by someone earlier in the day!  Those teens had religious backgrounds, but weren’t clear on the gospel - so after I clarified that, I was able to point them to John in their new Bibles.

 

I walk a circuit on both sides of Riccarton Road, between Rotherham Street and the Mall - there are bus stops on both sides of the road, which are very profitable spots for gospel chats.

 

I was at one of these bus stops - it was very crowded - when I had an opportunity to engage some very interested school kids in conversation.  It was a short chat, because their bus came, and they had to dash (not without taking tracts first).

 

It was then that I noticed someone was standing right next to me, on the other side.  I assessed the environment, and I concluded that this person had been listening to the chat I was having, and wanted to talk to me.  And I sensed a trap, they were positioning themselves hoping I would start a chat with them and then they would give me a piece of their mind.  I weighed it up, and I decided Jesus was worthy - I was going to step into the trap and see what happened!

 

So, after I introduced myself, they cut to the chase: “I want to talk about abortion”.  I knew, in this situation, that that was actually a distraction from what we really needed to talk about.  They were expecting a fight.  They threw some punches (not literally), but I just dodged and didn’t fight back.  Instead, I tried to step the conversation down a level: “So, how do we know what is right and wrong?”  My tactic was to move the conversation to how we know God is real, and therefore God is the objective basis for right and wrong.

 

But, the issue wasn’t intellectual.  Soon, the real issue bubbled up: 1) they hate God because he allows evil and suffering & 2) they hate God because God will judge them for what they love: sin (although this point was masked behind their first point).

 

I tried to address this intellectually, but that just caused an unreasonable eruption from them.  So I decided to move into listening mode – let them vent.  And they did.  Question after question tumbled out of them - but they didn’t want an answer, they just wanted to express their hatred for God.

 

I ended the conversation by saying, “You’ve asked a lot of really good questions, but I don’t think, at the moment, you are really looking for answers to them.  My name is Glen”, and I offered my hand.  They didn’t shake it, but gave me their name.  So I said, “, I really hope we get another chance to talk, but all the best for now, okay?”  And I moved on.

 

Now, to natural eyes, that conversation looks like a failure - they weren’t corrected in their worldview, they weren’t challenged in their sin, they didn’t hear the wonder of the gospel, they didn’t humbly come to Christ in contrition over their sin.  But to me, that conversation was Gold.  At the very least, their perception of the Christian worldview was challenged (we don’t hate those we disagree with), they had a chance to see how unreasonable their conduct was, they had a chance to hear what they think out loud, with some gentle push back from their ‘enemy’.  God can use that in their lives, and for his glory - ultimately, in either his justice or his mercy being magnified through their life.  Oh, let it be his mercy!  May they come to a place where they are ready to really talk about right and wrong, and hear the hope of forgiveness, through Jesus.  It may not be through me, but that’s okay.  God is in control.

 

Oh, wow, I’ve spent most of my time talking about that one, short, conversation.  But it was really special to me.  (Just so you know, I try to spend no more than one hour writing this report, I’d rather spend my time actually engaging unbelievers! ;)  This is also why you’ll notice heaps of spelling and grammar issues, I don’t really spend time reviewing what I wrote.)

 

So, I’ll skim over the other chats I wanted to write about:

 

Later, I got to engage 4 teens (at the bus stop on the other side).  They were firing so many questions at me, I couldn’t keep up.  But, for one of them in particular, I think they also weren’t really looking for answers, it was like she was trying to overwhelm or confuse her mind so she could avoid talking about the hard stuff: sin, death, hell, pain, truth.  The questions were like bad self medication for anxiety; rather than stopping, facing truth and discovering true hope and relief.

 

And then I encountered a guy, who was interested in what I was doing.  I asked him my usual question: “what do you think happens after life?”.  He said, “heaven”.  I said, “Why exactly can you go to heaven when you die?”.  He said, “because Jesus died for my sin”.  I said, “Good answer, so, do you have to be good to get to heaven?”.  He said, “no”.  I said, “Okay, so, out of 100, how sure are you that you’ll go to heaven?”.  He said, “100%”.  We quickly realised we were on the same page.  I was so encouraged to hear about his church, and the weekly outreach work they are doing: door to door, and on the streets.  So great!

 

The last chat I want to mention was on the next day: Friday, in the city.  I ended up in Cathedral Square and I was moving down Worcester Boulevard, when I passed a man sitting on a street bench.  I offered him a tract, but he ignored me – or, he didn’t notice me, because after I passed, he realised I had said something to him, and he looked up.  I stopped, and went back and offered him the tract, he took it, and made it obvious he wanted to know what it was about.  From there, I was able to sit next to him and have a very long chat.  By the end of which, he was asking the hardest and deepest questions – showing that, even in his resistance, he was hearing and understanding what I was challenging him about.  If my memory serves me right, he accepted a gospel of John from me in the end.  Wonderful!

 

May God use our feeble efforts, for his glory.  Only he can change a heart.
